The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have long been the inspiration for some intense artwork. According to scripture, they consist of war on a white horse, war on a red horse, prices on a black horse and upon a pale horse there is death including death by war, and oh yes famine. I think I have mentioned that the King James Version is the single thing nearest to being a foundational document for the modern world, and there is plenty of war in both.
Tradition gives us, so far as I remember, a different list: war, plague, famine and death. When I think about it, “Death” seems out of place. They are all death of various sorts. But death is on a “pale” horse, as distinct from the white horse ridden by the first horseman of war. When I look at the translation by Tyndale, it is a “green” horse. Hmm. That’s not so good for artwork, and it might just mean that death is green and slimy. But think of a cucumber. Inside it’s green and the pulp is translucent. The Romans, the dominant culture of the time, really did have a spiritual sense. It seems to me that worshiping a god of wine meant they thought the process of fermentation was supernatural. The must as it fermented gave off bubbles and lost weight without losing volume. It became more spiritual as it were. And the cucumber, being translucent, was again tending toward the spiritual, as it was tending toward invisible. So the pale horse can be thought of as an invisible horse. And of course, the invisible mass killer is infertility brought on by outbreeding, the subject of the first 32 movies I’ve produced.
In the first prophesy, I dealt with the plague of infertility as reflected in the “Covenant.” In the second, the danger was coldness. In this one it will be epidemics. And yes, I’ll get around to famine and war in good time. That’s actually five horsemen, as it were. But there are more: madness, populism, globalism, political collapse, economic collapse, environmental collapse, illegal extraterrestrials and dam collapse. And there are things that are beyond my pay grade; I mean that if I get into them, I’m quite sure I will make some people very angry. They include politics and Rotherham. Still that’s thirteen horsemen, too many for good artwork. Obviously I have no problem with you disagreeing with me while I am doing these speculative prophesy presentations. But I really don’t want to offend anybody so much they are unable to consider those first 32 shows. Or maybe I just don’t have the stomach to think about the two I do not plan to pursue.
So what of pestilence? It happens. There are outbreaks of communicable diseases, and often there is an attempt at control by means of quarantine; that means limiting the freedom of those not thought to be safely free of disease. This is not to be confused with medical isolation, which implies that the disease has been diagnosed or at least that a serious effort is being made to establish a diagnosis.
There have been more outbreaks and more quarantines in recent centuries than I would have expected. You can learn plenty by going to Wikipedia and looking at the “quarantine” article. Here is the link:

Contrasting a dastardly power structure with wonderful common people is apparently not isolated to this century. You suppose he’ll get cholera from that apple?
Major epidemics have long been recorded, but now the environment is quite different from the recent. Our ability to identify, prevent and even treat serious epidemics is amazing. On the other hand, given the speed and intensity of air travel, the living gifts that might arrive on our national doorstep are more dangerous then ever. On top of that, there are cities where poverty, homelessness, poor sanitation and mental addling by drug addiction are at very high levels. It seems to be mostly a condition of coastal cities on both sides and in the middle if you consider Chicago to be coastal.
So consider what will happen when a scary disease finds its way into a population of street people living on the ground or in tents, smearing dirty stuff and dropping needles on the sidewalk. Personal hygiene doesn’t seem to hold out much protection for the unwashed masses or even the productive working people passing by. The privileged rich of course are somewhat better off, as they can get the police to take away the wretched at their own doors, but they probably aren’t going to be doing all their own cooking and cleaning, and their servants will be taking their chances with the rest of us and bringing it to work.

Small pox now exists only in lab environments and unless somebody with access does something improbably stupid, evil or insane it won’t be giving us trouble any time soon, although if it were to it would be entering an almost totally unvaccinated population.
One of the scariest epidemics in the world today is Ebola. Once you have had it either you are dead – most likely – or well or – I don’t know how often this happens – but you may be an infectious carrier for a year or so. In fact there are a couple of diseases of concern that don’t even appear on the list. There is typhus, which is spread by fleas on rates and for which our great cities are a setup. And there is typhoid fever, which is spread by bad drinking water or by very bad hygiene generally; again it smells like a setup.
I don’t have a cure in mind, but California is so fantastically rich that it would seem to be possible, given the political will and scared privileged rich, simply to set up huge dormitories. Each would have 4 wards, men, cosmetic males, cosmetic females and women, who could not visit other wards. Bunk beds but no walls, free food, free drugs self-administered under supervision, no needles or drugs given out, bathrooms with showers, wheelchair ride to a bunk after drugs, lots of video cameras and whatever else it would take to make the thing work. There should be a way to screen for those epidemic disease.
